The AGENDA for the evening will be as follows:<\/p>\n<p><u><em>1) COMMITTEE ELECTIONS 2016<\/em><\/u><\/p>\n<p>We will be electing the following committee positions for the upcoming academic year 2016\/17. There are a large number of roles available and you do not need to have had committee experience before, nor do you need to have been heavily involved in the society already. However, in order to stand for election, you must be\u00a0<strong>1) A PhilSoc Member<\/strong>\u00a0and<strong>\u00a02) A Matriculated Student of The University of Edinburgh<\/strong>. If you are not currently a member, you are welcome to join at any point before the AGM begins.<\/p>\n<p>Please find a full description of the positions available\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/philsoc.us9.list-manage1.com\/track\/click?u=7068091d213ed478bc6f62a05&amp;id=e0cc3c6b62&amp;e=ef81650981\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>. Whether you would like to run our guest lecture series, gain financial experience, organise socials and parties, tutor students, manage our library, or market the society, there is a role for you! Being on the committee gives you a fantastic insight into how academic events are run and the opportunity to personally communicate and work with philosophers throughout the UK! Of course, it also offers great skills and experience.<\/p>\n<p>The following roles will be elected at the AGM.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>President\u00a0<em>(Executive Role)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Vice-President\u00a0<em>(Executive Role)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Secretary\u00a0<em>(Executive Role)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Treasurer\u00a0<em>(Executive Role)<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Chairperson<\/li>\n<li>Discussion Group Organiser<\/li>\n<li>Reading Group Organiser<\/li>\n<li>Academic Support Officer<\/li>\n<li>Department Liaison Officer<\/li>\n<li>Social Secretary<\/li>\n<li>Marketing Officer<\/li>\n<li>Webmaster<\/li>\n<li>Librarian<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you wish to stand for election, we ask you to prepare a few words (about 2 minutes long) about why you would like to stand. This will be followed by elections by secret ballot by all members in attendance. Some of these roles can be available as shared positions.<\/p>\n<p><u><em>2) REPORTS<\/em><\/u><\/p>\n<p>The following reports from the committee will be presented:<br \/>\n2.1: The President&#8217;s Report 2016 (Rishabh Malu)<br \/>\n2.2: The Financial Report 2016 (Vivian Uhlir)<\/p>\n<p><u><em>3) MOTIONS FOR CONSIDERATION<\/em><\/u><\/p>\n<p>In addition to the committee elections, we will be voting on any motions that members would like to bring forward for the coming year. This can include constitutional amendments (current constitution\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/philsoc.us9.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=7068091d213ed478bc6f62a05&amp;id=8eba9ac5a3&amp;e=ef81650981\" target=\"_blank\">attached<\/a>).
